대우자동차 노동자 동지들에게
우리는 정부와 재벌의 신자유주의 구조조정, 자본주의의 경제적 문제를 위해
노동자의 임금을 책정하는데 여념이 없는 IMF에 맞서 싸우는 대우자동차
노동자들의 투쟁을 지지합니다.
우리는 TV를 통해 경찰과 전경에 의해 공격받는 연좌시위 노동자들을 보았습니다.
우리는 이 투쟁이 노동자계급 운동뿐만 아니라 자본에게 있어서도 얼마나 중대한
문제인지 깨달았습니다.
우리는 대우자동차의 용감한 여성, 남성 노동자들에게 경의를 표합니다. 대우차
노동자들은 당연한 권리를 위해, 노동자계급 운동의 전 세계 연대를 위해 투쟁하고
있다 생각됩니다. 대우자동차 파업을 통하여 한국노동자들의 운동은, 난폭한 폭군
- 제국주의 지구화에- 맞서 노동자들이 어떻게 대응하고 싸워야 하는지를 전
세계에 다시 보여주었습니다.
우리 필리핀 노동자운동은 노동자권리에 대한 폭군에 맞서 투쟁할 것입니다.
대우자동차 노동자들의 투쟁은 우리의 가슴과 머릿속에 있을 것이다. 우리는
올바른 교훈을 배우고 시도할 것입니다.
우리는 동지들의 투쟁 속에서 동지들과 함께 하나입니다. 그리고 앞으로도
신자유주의에 대항하는 투쟁을 지키기 위해 계속 함께 할 것입니다.
우리는 당신들의 상황을 필리핀 진보운동 단체에 전할 것이며, 마닐라에서
연대활동을 시작하기 위해 시도할 것입니다.

Solidarity Message to the workers at Daewoo Motors
From the Socialist Party of Labor (SPP) Philippines
Dear Comrades,
We have been following closely the struggle of the workers at Daewoo motors
as they battle the neo-liberal restructuring plans of the government, big
business and the IMF who are intent on making the workers pay for the
economic problems of capitalism.
We also saw graphic images on tv of the workers sit-down strike being
attacked by the police and other armed goons. We realized how important this
struggle was for capital as well as the working class movement.
We salute the brave workers, both women and men, at Daewoo. They struggle for
their just rights and for the rights of the working class movement
worldwide.
Through the Daewoo strike the Korean workers movement again shows the world
how workers need to respond and fight against the brutal assault of
imperialist globalization.
We in the Philippines workers movement are gearing up for a major assualt on
workers rights as the economy continues its downward spiral under the impact
of the impending global recession. The struggle of the Daewoo workers will be
in our hearts and minds. We will try and learn the correct lessons.
We are one with you in your struggle and will continue to keep up the
struggle against neoliberalism on this front.
We will distribute your message in the progressive movement here and attempt
to initiate some solidarity activities in Manila. We will keep you informed
about the progress we make.
Long live the workers at Daewoo motors!
Long live the struggle against imperialist globalization!
